At its launch, The Sims 4 base game was a lot more stripped down than previous Sims base games so they can sell you the same rehashed ideas over and over and over. They're going to be making even more money with one of the most predatory DLC schemes I've ever seen on an EA game. They've already milked everyone who was willing to pay for the base game, and now they're treating it like an F2P game. Otherwise, you can just claim it via a browser. To claim it on the Origin client, add it to your wishlist first and then claim it from there. Sims 4 is currently available on Origin for free, yours to keep forever as long as you claim it before May 28, 2019.
